Dickinson County Historical Audio Data
Welcome to the NEWCOMMNET-hosted historical audio archive. Here you will find high-quality recordings of radio communications transmitted across Michigan's Public Safety Communications System (MPSCS), preserved with their original date and time stamps.
These recordings are original, unaltered audio captured directly from live radio transmissions as they were received at the time of the communication. They are presented as historical records of the actual radio traffic and events being handled by the agencies at that time.
The recordings are not edited, reenacted, reconstructed, recreated, or produced from secondary sources. What you hear is the original recorded radio transmission captured during the event.
All audio files are hosted on our independent web server and made available through the NEWCOMMNET archive.
Northeast Wisconsin Communications Network independently monitors and records selected dispatch centers and other radio communications carried over the MPSCS. Recordings are archived and retained for up to two years from the date of the original transmission. The archive is updated roughly every ninty days.
🔎 How to Search the Historical Audio Archive
The archive is organized into archive-period folders. Each folder represents a period of recorded radio traffic and is identified by the original timestamp generated by the recording system.
Archive-period folders use the format:
YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS
Individual audio recordings stored inside each archive-period folder use the
same timestamp format with a .wav extension:
YYYY-MM-DD_HH-MM-SS.wav
Individual WAV files are separate captured radio transmissions. Their length can vary, and a folder may contain multiple recordings from the same archive period. Some recordings may have been removed from the archive when they contained no usable audio or were zero seconds in length.

To narrow the search to a particular time, search part of the timestamp:

You can also search using a complete archive-period folder name or WAV filename:
2026-06-14_14-18-10
2026-06-14_14-18-11.wav
Because the filenames are generated from the original recording timestamps, searching by date and time is the most direct way to locate a particular archive period or individual recording.
